UW Madison Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Celebration
UW Madison celebrated 50 years of oculoplastic and orbital reconstructive surgery this past weekend! Highlights included a Grand Rounds presentation from James Katowitz, MD, Visiting Professor, Director of Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His fascinating topic was, “Balancing Function and Appearance: An Oculofacial Plastic Perspective.”
Dr. Richard Dortzbach–fondly known as “the Dortz” was celebrated by colleagues for his dedication to the oculoplastic and orbital surgery department at UW Madison Hospital. Drs. Brad Lemke, Mark Lucarelli and Cat Burkat thanked Dr. Dortzbach for his many years developing the department and many fellows during his career. Former fellows gathered from across the country to attend the event.
Certified Clinical Anaplastologists at Medical Art Resources, Inc. have been designing and creating orbital prosthetics for patients served by UW Madison oculoplastics for 28 years! We work collaboratively with Dr. Cat Burkat for placement of craniofacial implants to attach orbital prostheses with magnets.
